FINALS WEEK!!

Finals week is almost OVER!! Can you believe it? IT HAS BEEN ONE WHOLE SEMESTER!! I remember over the summer I swore I probably wouldn't stay at this college for mor ethan a semester. That I was just going to leave in the middle and probably start my own photography career outside of any kind of college. Thank God He has brought me here once again. What a blessing this place was. Photography major AND web design minor-with great teachers and great friends here. Can it get any better than that? Not to mention how God has spared us from the snow this entire semester:) Praise God for that one because that is Definitely not any of our doings!:D

So I have just finished my photography 10 part series final, and I am realizing it is not so much one series as it is a multiple different series inside of one. I think they personally stand out better separate than as a whole-so I don't think I nailed it for the series concept this time, but individually they each shine. Not exactly what I had intended, but I tried my best on each one and week took Hours to get just one shot completed in a matter of 4 days. LOTS of work, Lots of editing, Lots of time. But lots of fun too:)

SO Here it is! The makeup artist for all of them (Except a few - I have labeled then below the picture) was Stephanie, my most prominent assistant was my one and only boyfriend Tim (and he is getting mighty good at it too, let me tell you!). Nikisha and Renee were always there for support or hep when I needed them. The models names are as listed below:)

Secondly, I have finished my FINAL For WEB DESIGN!:) I am actually really happy with it. We will see what the teacher thinks of it tomorrow.

Our assignment was to take a website already existing and to recreate/redesign it based on the criteria they wanted. When we first got this assignment, I was worried I would not be able to 'top' my mushroom design, because the teacher liked it so much. But I found a company called www.organic-sales.com that was asking for a redesign of their site in 99designs. They wanted to utilize their name 'organic' sales and create an experience the viewer would never forget. They also needed something with better navigation, and that is what I have tried to set up here. And when I even spent HOURS in photoshop creating a mockup, it just looked pathetic! But Finals deadlines don't wait for anyone, so I kept praying and now I have come up with this:)!

Click on the original mockup image below to visit it and be sure to
SEND ME A COMMENT AT THE BOTTOM:)
(They go directly to my email address-let me know what you think guys!)

FYI: Some of the portfolio images under 'work' will not respond when you clikc on them because I was working with what content their site had, and at the moment, they do not have a larger image to present for those mini examples. All of the information content was taken directly from their site. I did not come up with any of the text, only the design and some of the images.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST my Typography final! For this, we had to create/design a font and incorporate it in a calendar that we designed for 2012. Here are a few sneak peaks of that calendar. The calendar is printed 4"x4" and is up for sale if anyone is interested:)

Thats all for now folks, pray for us to have a safe trip back to NY on Thursday-we are leaving probably around 5am!:D

  2. Cool! My fav model pic is "Geneva"...that looks like it belongs on a page in Vogue magazine! Calendar/font is, surprisingly, very whimsical...I like it. Finally, the website you designed, blows that company's original one out of the water! They should commission you for it! Overall, I think it's safe to say that it seems like you had a great semester, both academically and socially! See you soon!
